The Student Congress is composed of # Senators with Alternate Senators from all active Student Organizations, who are elected each fall and spring to serve one year. The Speaker of House presides over all Student Congress meetings and handles all legislative matters.
The Student Congress meets on a bi-weekly basis during the fall & spring terms to discuss new motions and to improve the university based on the student's ideas.
The Student Congress consists of four (4) standing committees and some ad-hoc committees:
AD HOC Committee (ADHOC) – Reviews legislation and recommends changes concerning Student Government Constitution, Statutes, and Senate Rules. This committee is elected by a majority vote of the Senate.
Finance Committee (FAO) –Reviews and investigates the use of all funds allocated through SBG Funds & Student's Unit Fees to ensure that they are being used properly. This committee is appointed by the senators on the Finance Committee.
Rules, Regulations, & Order Committee (RRO) – Reviews legislation and recommends changes concerning Student Government Constitution, Statutes, and Senate Rules. This committee is elected by a majority vote of the Senate.
